How mindful we are from moment to moment can have a significant effect on our energy levels. Here are just 3 ways how mindfulness can help boost our energy.
Let’s start with what it means to be mindful.
When we’re mindful, we’re paying attention to what is happening in the present moment. And doing so on purpose, with intention. We’re aware of our bodies, our thoughts and emotions. As well as the environment around us. We’re allowing things to unfold as they are, instead of how we wish them to be. We’re no longer moving through our day in auto-pilot when we’re practicing mindfulness. Rather than dividing our attention between multiple things, or jumping from one thing to the other, mindfulness can save our energy by helping us focus on one thing.
Conserve energy by mindfully managing conflict.

When we’re being mindful, we’re building a deeper connection to our bodies. This allows us to notice how our body is feeling in the moment, giving us the opportunity to respond in alignment with how we feel. If we are able to notice tension building in our neck and shoulders, for example, we can choose to do some stretches, go for a massage, or do some deep breathing to ease the tension. If we’re not aware of the state of our body, the tension may build, leading to pain, zapping us of our energy.
Protect your energy by becoming more self-aware.
With mindfulness, we get to know ourselves better. We become aware of what thoughts are on-repeat in our minds, what emotions we tend to shy away from, or what habits are supporting our well-being. With this level of self-awareness, we can take better care of ourselves, including making more choices that protect our energy rather than drain it.
